CoolTone

FDA-cleared CoolTone™ by CoolSculpting® is a next-generation body contouring procedure that sculpts and defines your muscles through high-intensity focused electromagnetic technology (HIFEM).

Chiseled abs, lean thighs, and sculpted buttocks in painless 30-minute treatments that triggers powerful muscle contractions.

Think 1000 crunches or 1000 squats in 30 minutes.

  • Prepare as you would prior to a rigorous strength training session.
  • Have some protein an hour or so before, but avoid a full meal prior to treatment.
  • For extra comfort, nitrous oxide (laughing gas) is available for an additional $100.
  • Come in 30 minutes before your scheduled treatment time to re-assess areas and capture pre-treatment photos. After 3 months, we use these photos to re-assess treated areas and evaluate progress.
  • It is recommended for women to NOT undergo treatment during menstrual cycle. And if close to period, women may find that it comes on sooner.
  • We recommended coming in after 3 months to evaluate progress.

What is the process?
Your CoolTone nurse will meet with you during your consultation to assess the areas of the body that are your biggest concern. Since everybody is different, our nurses will work with you for your best treatment plan that will achieve your desired results.

How is the treatment and what does it feel like?
The treatment feels like a series of strong muscle contractions. A rhythm of contractions is felt which can at first feel a bit funny, but after a few minutes it becomes very easy to tolerate as the patient adapts.

Will I lose fat with CoolTone?
CoolTone is FDA-cleared for muscle building. For a full body sculpting solution, we recommend pairing CoolTone treatments with CoolSculpting and our Biologique Recherche Slimming Algae Treatments.

Fat cells destroyed by CoolSculpting along with increased fat metabolism from CoolTone are permanent.

How much muscle mass increase can I expect and how long does it take to see results?
We recommend a series of 4 treatments twice per week for 2 weeks, which has shown to increase muscle mass by 16% in clinical studies. The results are usually noticed 2 months after the 4th treatment. Some patients, however, do notice increased muscle tone in the abdomen area one day following the treatment.

How many treatments should I do and how long are each treatment?
For best results, we suggest doing 4 treatments twice a week for 2 weeks. Each treatment takes about 30 minutes.

We recommend periodic maintenance with a single treatment every 3-6.

Can I return to normal activities after my treatment?
Yes, you can. The CoolTone procedure is completely non-surgical, so typically you can return to normal activities immediately. Patients often return to work on the same day after a CoolTone treatment is completed.

How does CoolTone work?
The CoolTone™ device is FDA-cleared for improvement of abdominal tone, strengthening of the abdominal muscles, and development for firmer abdomen. CoolTone™ is also FDA-cleared for strengthening, toning, and firming of buttocks and thighs.

The contractions from CoolTone are much more powerful than the voluntary contractions that occur while performing an exercises such as a sit ups and crunches.

Through a deep penetration and contraction of the muscle layers, the body responds by firming up its muscle fibers. This conditioning results in improved muscle strength, tone and shape and an overall more toned and well-defined appearance.

  1. CoolTone’s Magnetic Muscle Stimulation, or MMS technology, penetrates through the skin and fat layers to target only the muscle layer, inducing involuntary muscle contractions.

What kind or results can I expect with CoolTone?
Allergan, the manufacturer of CoolTone, conducted multiple clinical studies with many patients specifically on the areas of the abdomen and buttocks. The studies measured fat and muscle with imaging (CT scans and MRI studies) by comparing before and after treatment photos. The results of the studies show how effective CoolTone is at increasing muscle mass.

Muscle mass is not permanent, but likely lasts 6 months or longer. Periodic CoolTone treatments can maintain the muscle tone achieved from an initial series of CoolTone treatments.

Periodic maintenance with a single treatment every 3-6 months is encouraged.

How is CoolTone different from its competitors?
The CoolTone device has 50% more magnetic intensity than the leading competiro, measured in tesla (T) a the point of patient contact.

Are there side effects with CoolTone?

The treated area may be slightly sore just like you might feel after a strength-training session. This may last for a day following the treatment.

This is a safe treatment, side effects may include, but are not limited to, muscular pain, temporary muscle spasm, temporary joint or tendon pain, and redness at or near the treatment site.

Those with thicker fat stores may not get as significant of muscle contraction, resulting in less results following treatment. Pregnant and nursing females should not undergo treatment with CoolTone. Women who are close to menstruation may find that it comes sooner or cramping is increased or intensified with CoolTone treatments, therefore we recommend not undergoing treatment during this time of the month.
