Thread Face Lift with NovaThreads®

Experience instant results with minimal-to-no downtime with the Spa Radiance Medical Thread Face Lift. Utilizing the latest technology, NovaThreads are dissolvable polydioxanone (PDO) threads made from the same dissolving material as surgical sutures. A thread lift is one of most effective ways to lift the sagging loose skin around the eyes, brow bone, cheeks, jowls and neck, giving back the youthful V-shaped face.  You can have a thread lift anywhere, even the body, but one of the most sought-after locations is the lower third of the face, where Botox and fillers have a difficult time lifting the sagging skin and softening marionette lines, naso-labial folds and laugh lines.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do NovaThreads work?

NovaThreads are hypodermic needles preloaded with a synthetic PDO absorbable suture placed beneath the skin to provide a support structure for new collagen growth by creating “controlled healing,” while reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles.  Your skin will fully absorb the NovaThread within 4 to 6 months without leaving any scar tissue.

What are the types of Novathreads?

We offer both the NovaMesh and NovaLyft threads. NovaMesh creates a mesh under the skin (think of a # hashtag shape) that serves as a foundation for new collagen production. Results are subtle and appear naturally over time.

NovaLyft produces more immediate and dramatic results: the PDO sutures have “barbs” which provide a grip under the skin and can be pulled for instant skin repositioning. Just like the NovaMesh, the skin will continue to build new collagen to secure the lift.

What will happen during my thread lift?

You will come in at least 30 minutes before your treatment to apply a topical numbing cream. Once inside the treatment room, your nurse will mark the areas you intend to address.  And then using a small hollow needle, your nurse will insert the thread in precise locations to lift and support the saggy skin. Once the needle is removed, the inserted thread will grasp the soft tissue under the skin providing an immediate “lift.”

Will There Be Swelling and Bruising Post-Treatment?

You may have mild swelling and bruising for a few days post treatment. You can minimize your chances for swelling and bruising by avoiding the following at least two weeks before your appointment: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen, aspirin, and naproxen; Fish oil supplements, Vitamin E supplements, Gingko, garlic, ginger, and ginseng supplements. Also, avoid alcohol 24 hours before your appointment – it’s a blood thinner! To further avoid bruising, a week prior start taking Arnica Montana supplements, bromaline supplements (or eat pineapple every day), and Vitamin K supplements.

How long will it take to see results?

You will see a palpable lift immediately following your Thread Lift, but the results will be most evident once any swelling and bruising heals, usually within 2 weeks. Throughout the 4-6 months the threads are dissolving, therefore stimulating collagen growth, so subtle results will continue to manifest.
